Boys Gang
We call these young stallion groups the "juvenile delinquents"; their curiosity gets the better of them and they will often come within 30 yards or so to see what we're all about.

Moseyin' Along
On this summer day, we led our saddle horses parallel to several bands of wild horses that were headed to water. Each band has from 2 to a maximum of about 12 head, though several bands will hang together during the day.

Movin' On Over
This beautiful band circled around us over the course of the day and on the return to the trailer, came right around us like we weren't even there. Breathtaking . . .

Mustang Mommas
This shows a couple of bands of mustangs that were forced away from their lounging at the midday water by another band coming in to drink.

No Worries
Leonard and his wife Alyce have ridden with us five times, and will be back in 2009 for their sixth Mustang Horse Adventure. We have them to thank for most of the outstanding mustang photos you see on the site.

The Grey Stallion
This young stud horse had one mare and colt with him, just starting his family band.
|
|
The Man of the Hour
This stallion kept his harem at a distance but he came up and postured to our group in a flamboyant show.

Waiting for the Photographers
When we have to "stalk" the bands, we often will leave one wrangler in charge of most of the saddle horses and take a couple of "Judas" saddle horses for cover so we can get "up close and personal."

Watching from a Short Distance
It's a little cliche' but getting to see wild mustang horses in an undisturbed wilderness setting is nearly indescribable.

Wild Mare and Colt
This pair are part of a band of about 12 head of horses.
