In the new Ken Burns' film "The National Parks: America's Best Idea", the chronicle of citizens of the greatest democracy on Earth to make sure that the very best of the special wild lands and spectacular vistas of the United States is related in a most articulate and visual presentation.  The first of these most precious and spiritually sacred environments to be protected by federal law is Yellowstone National Park, the crown jewel of Wyoming's many spectacular wilderness ecosystems.

The signing of the Congressional bill creating Yellowstone on March 1, 1872 by President Ulysses S. Grant was the beginning of a committment by ordinary citizens and government officials alike to protect the values and landscapes unique to this nation. From the boiling mud pots and steaming geysers to the bison and wolf, Yellowstone is a complex and wondrous ecosytem that is accessible to anyone who can make the journey to the northwest corner of Wyoming

When you come to Wyoming on a horseback riding vacation with Blue Sky Sage, your adventure begins in the valley of Jackson's Hole upon your arrival at the Jackson HoleAirport in Grand Teton National Park, the second of the jewels in the national park crown located in Wyoming. The town of Jackson is the gateway to Yellowstone and offers wonderful accommodations, restaurants and nightlife and is the perfect place to base from for side day trips into Yellowstone and Grand Teton before or after your ride week.  Many of our guests enjoy coming in a few days early, renting a car and traveling through the Parks on their own.  To quote the inscription on the gateway arch at the North Entrance, Yellowstone is "For the Benefit and Enjoyment of the People."
