Thank You!
The month of December and January 2012 have been very mild here in western Wyoming. There's very little snow on the ground at the ranch, and daytime temperatures are in the mid 20's for the most part - usually we'd have 2 feet of snow and the thermometer would be holding steady in the -20's, so we're living the "high life" right now! The horses started coming to the hay feedline on January 2, about 3 weeks later than usual. However, we never lose sight of the fact that weather can change in an instant out here - the great 1949 Blizzard hit Wyoming on January 3, after a mild fall and winter leading up to that day.

With the beginning of a New Year, we want to thank everyone who was part of the Blue Sky Sage experience in the past year. We are most grateful to all of our guests for choosing to ride with us in 2011, and trusting us to make your horseback riding vacation a unique and memorable experience. To our vendors, we appreciate everything you do to keep our horses fit and healthy; our big ol' trucks and trailers running down the road; our website active and productive; our guests safe and comfortable on the road between Jackson and the campsite; and, good food and drink available to compliment the day-to-day ride experience. And to Dr. Mark we sincerely appreciate your expertise in helping Mike and I stay healthy and fit so we can take care of everyone and everything that goes into the entire production!

And, special thanks to our employees this season; Eric, Linda, and Tia, you all were just wonderful and made the 2011 season very special for everyone. Also, we want to thank Beebe, Sue, and Bonnie for helping work the show booth at Equine Affaire in Massachusetts, and Joan, Chris, Cathy and Sandy for their support while Bobbi was back there. We couldn't pull that effort off nearly as well as we do without all of you. And, thanks to you gals for setting Bobbi up to ride English on Crane Beach with you, what a blast!

Just for fun, here are some of photos from the big elk hunting adventure we went on in November, when we really did have snow!

Luck and Jasper
Lucky & Jasper
And, for all of you who got to meet Lucky and Jasper, they continue to GROW, and they are becoming much more "gentleman-ly" in their behavior.

The ride Schedule is starting to fill up, so now is the time to book your 2012 horseback adventure. We hope we can ride together across the wide-open sage, under the blue Wyoming skies in 2012.

Wide-open, unfenced country with 100-mile vistas and active riding are just some of the features of a Blue Sky Sage ride. Every week is a very hands-on experience of free-spirited horsemanship, with no fences and no "nose to tail" trail riding. We ride good Horses, we have a lot of fun and no one ever leaves thinking they haven't had enough time in the saddle! Whether you are an experienced horse enthusiast or more of an intermediate rider looking for a more leisurely-paced ride, check out the Mountain Horse Tent Camp Trips. Take a look at what you may be able to do on a horseback adventure with Blue Sky Sage . . .

New Horses at Blue Sky Sage
New Horses
Last season we brought in four new ranch-raised Quarter Horses to enhance and expand our cavvy of experienced saddle horses. And, one special mare that started out here with us a few years ago has returned for the summer seasons too. In 2012, we will be leasing some new horses that we are very excited to have opportunity to use and bring into the cavvy. Around April 1, we'll be going to the ranch to hand-pick from the top end of our new suppliers' herd and give them a "test drive" on site. After we get them home and "purtied up", we'll be posting photos and background stories on the Meet the Horses page, so visit often and start getting acquainted with all of our exceptional saddle horses before you arrive on your horseback riding vacation.

Upcoming Events
A new addition to the equine trade show circuit for Bobbi will be the Equine Affaire in Columbus, Ohio, April 12-15, 2012 at the Ohio Expo Center. The producers of Equine Affaire do such a fantastic job with the Massachusetts event that we've decided to expand our ability to reach avid horsewomen and horsemen that are looking for a genuine western riding adventure. Bobbi will be in the Blue Sky Sage booth #C711 in the Celeste Center. Please do come by to talk with Bobbi in person, enter for a chance to WIN A FREE TRIP and make plans to book your ride for 2012.

We Have a Winner!
Our winner from the November 2011 Massachusetts event is Carol Logue of Woodbury, CT. Carol's daughters, Ashley and Heather will be joining her on the July 3-9 Girls Ride Out! week. Congratulations Carol!
